BMW M4 G82/G83 A/C compressor failure — Coupé, Convertible, CSL

Your BMW M4 (G82/G83) left the factory with a clutchless A/C compressor (part 64529482996) — a known weak point with a four-figure replacement cost. ACBridge lets the car run the proven magnetic-clutch compressor instead. One connector. No coding. Reversible.

Common questions

Why does the BMW M4 (G82/G83) A/C compressor fail?

These cars use a clutchless, externally-controlled variable compressor that spins whenever the engine runs — it can never fully disengage. When its internals wear or seize, the only official repair is a new unit of the same design at a four-figure list price.

What does ACBridge actually do?

ACBridge is a small potted adapter that installs inline at the factory compressor connector. It lets your car correctly drive the proven magnetic-clutch compressor (BMW donor family 64 52 6 994 082) that BMW fitted to the same model lines as a factory build variant — using your car's own A/C controls.

Does it need coding or throw fault codes?

No. The install is plug-in at one connector plus a ground lug — about 10 minutes. No coding session, no fault codes, and it is fully reversible: unplug it and the car is electrically stock.

Which M4 (G82/G83) variants does it fit?

All variants in the table above — petrol and diesel, 4- and 6-cylinder — are confirmed against the factory parts catalog: they all use the same clutchless compressor and connector, and one ACBridge covers them. Unusual build or not sure? Send us your VIN and we confirm before you order.
